Recycling Program

Bourbon County is conscious about the environment.  The recycling trailers travel on Saturdays to cities in Bourbon County and are in Fort Scott the third Saturday of each month. We have a recycling program to allow citizens to take certain items to a recycling center on Saturdays, 8am-Noon.

Items must be separated by type and no plastic bags are allowed. Please do not use the recycling program for trash.

The following items are accepted: 

• Newspaper
• Magazines
• Cardboard
• Aluminum Cans
• Plastic Bottles (no lids)

Curb-side recycle service available
