The Bourbon County Appraiser’s Office is accepting resumes and applications for a Field Appraiser. Under the supervision of the Deputy County Appraiser, the Field Appraiser position is responsible for discovering, listing, and valuing all classes of property in Bourbon County for tax purposes in compliance with all laws and regulations. This employee should possess excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills. Applicants must have analytic skills, the ability to work outdoors and have computer experience in Microsoft Windows Applications on desktop and hand-held devices. This position will be required to learn how to do all duties in the Field Appraisers Position. This position works outside for most of the year. Must learn to inspect septic tanks, learn the sanitation code and handle all aspects of sanitation enforcement. A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Excellent benefits include KPERS retirement, vacation, sick leave, health, life, dental and vision insurance. Applications may be picked up from the Bourbon County Clerk or Appraiser’s office. Starting pay is $13.17. The position is open until filled. There is no residency requirement. The Bourbon County Appraiser’s Office is accepting resumes and applications for a Personal Property Supervisor. Under the supervision of the County Appraiser, the position is responsible for discovering, listing, and valuing all classes of an individual or commercial personal property and oil and gas in Bourbon County for tax purposes in compliance with all laws and regulations. Other duties include Imaging and attaching documents, data entry of field documents, using a sketching program, creating vouchers to pay bills, processing incoming and outgoing emails, and phone calls. This employee should possess excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills. Applicants must have analytic skills and have computer experience in Microsoft Windows Applications. This position will be required to learn how to do all duties in the Personal Property Position. A high school diploma or GED is required.
