NEW ELECTION WORKER APPLICATION
BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS
 
We're always looking for good help.  Working on Election Day is a rewarding experience--and it pays too!  If you would like to become a member of the Election Team, please fill out the form below and submit it.  Names will be added to a pool of workers for Election.  Filling out this application is not a guarantee that you will be picked to work on an election board. 
 
Qualifications are:  *  Must be a U.S. citizen and a registered voter in Bourbon County
 
                            *  Must be affiliated with either the Democratic or Republican Party
 
                            *  Must attend paid Election Worker Training prior to each Election
 
                            *  Must not be a candidate on the ballot, except in the position of Precinct
                               Committeeman/Committeewoman
 
                            *  Must have transportation to and from the polling place

In 2008, there are two elections.  The Primary Election is Tuesday, August 5th and the General Presidential Election is Tuesday, November 4th.

A full Election Day is at least 13 hours.  Board workers arrive at the polling place by 6:30 am and the day isn't over until all the machines totaled and all closing procedures are completed, usually after 7:30 pm or later.  Most workers are required to work the entire shift.  Some shift work may be available.  Please indicate whether you will be available for the entire day or only a half day.
